Here is the perfect homemade whole wheat bread recipe to enjoy healthy easier breakfast to eat. I’ve to say this recipe of whole wheat bread is best in taste and can be used to make multiple things as breakfast like sandwiches and more.

As we all know that whole wheat flour has many health benefits, so, it is good for you if you consume it daily as your breakfast but more importantly it is easy to made at home, so you can avoid purchasing it from the market.

Ingredients for this Whole wheat bread recipe:

  • 3 cups (360 gm) 100% whole wheat flour 
  • 1 cup water (250 ml) or needed
  • 1 tsp instant yeast or ½ tbsp dry active yeast
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 1 tbsp sugar 
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil or butter
  • 2 tbsp yogurt 

All these ingredients are must to use in this recipe but if anything which is optional in the ingredients are mentioned in the instructions below.

Instructions for this Whole wheat bread recipe:

  • First, add some salt to the whole wheat and mix it then add it in the instant yeast. You can also mix the instant yeast granules with ½ cup water and sugar in a separately, then after mix them add this batter to the wheat flour. May be you are have some problem with mixing the instant yeast with dough, sometimes it does not dissolve into it, so to avoid this you can also dissolve them in water separately
  • Now, Add in the yogurt and butter/oil into the dough and mix them well and then knead into a soft dough adding water at intervals. It is obvious that if the dough looks dry, then you can add some more water and if the dough looks too sticky, then add some more flour, so,  Knead for about 8 to 10 minutes for the dough to take it’s perfect texture.
  • Place the dough in a large bowl by brushing lightly with water and keep it covered for about 30-35 minutes. Now, again punch and lightly knead the dough, make a log/sphere of the dough and seam the edges.

  • Place the dough log in a greased loaf pan and let it be in rest again for 40 to 45 mins. The main purpose of keeping the dough for that much time to make it rise. Now, after the second rise preheat the oven for 20 minutes at 220 degrees celsius but if using a convection oven or oven with a fan, then preheat at 200 or 205 degrees celsius for about 20 minutes.
  • Lightly brush with some milk and scratch the dough from top with 5mm parallel lines, you can skip brushing with milk. Bake the whole wheat bread in a preheat oven for 220 degrees celsius for about 22-25 mins. 
  • Now, when the whole wheat bread cools down, you can store it by wrapping it with cling film or you can serve it directly by cutting it into pieces.

If you are making this recipe active dry yeast then here are here are the instructions:
Warm 1 or 1.25 cups of water then add 1 tbsp sugar and dry active yeast and stir them, let the yeast activate for about10 to 12 minutes. And now add oil or butter into it and then begin to knead the dough. Now follow the steps given in the recipe.
