Ingredients

For Filling

  • 6 to 7 cup peeled, sliced & cored apples
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tbsp ( 1/4 cup) all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

For Crumb Topping

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temp
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 Pie Crust [Homemade/Readymade]

Directions

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C/ 400 degrees F.

Take a large mixing bowl, place sliced apple into it. Now sprinkle the top of your apples with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon & toss to combine gently.

Take a medium sauce pan over medium flame, melt unsalted butter, whisking 3 tbsp of flour, simmer for 1 min or until gets light golden colour. Add  water & granulated sugar, bring to the boil & simmer for 3-4 min.

Then pour this mix on sliced cinnamon apples. Stir both sauce & apples uniformly.

For topping, take another bowl , add 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, mix together. Then add unsalted butter & mix with your hands.

Then spread evenly apple sauce mix on pie crust, sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over apple slices. Then bake it for approx 1 hour or until crust & toppings gets golden brown & fillings to bubble. Cool it down & serve the amazing and delicious Dutch Apple pie.
