This Black Bean Burger vegan recipe is made lot of veggies in it, you can also add or skip some of the vegetables like avocado can be replaced by bell peppers, onions can be replaced also. Here we use toasted hamburger buns for the best taste and flavors but you can also use sesame seed buns.

 

Do I need to dry Black Beans?

The answer is quiet and simple and that is yes! You must dry out the Black beans  or bake them for about 7-10 minutes until the skins starts to peel.

Can I bake or Grill these Black Bean Burgers?

The best way of cooking these Black Bean burgers is to cook them into a skillet but you can also bake them in to oven for 20 minutes by flipping them in 10 minutes on 350 °F or 200°C. Also you can grill them but you can also take care of the edges.

Ingredients

For Burger

  • 2 black beans cans [450gm],  rinsed drained and
  • 100gm chooped shiitake mushrooms
  • 1/2 thinly sliced yellow onion
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Ground black pepper [Fresh]
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 Chopped Avocado
  • 1/4 cup packed cilantro or parsley leaves
  • 2 chopped cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Vegetable oil

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F or 200°C. Take a large baking sheet and spread the black beans layer. Now, take an another baking sheet and drizzle the shiitake mushrooms and onions with olive oil. Sprinkle the salt and black pepper on it and toss it to coat, then spread it as layer.

Time to bake the beans until the skins starts to take off and dry for about 7-9 minutes. Now, bake the mushrooms and onions for about 18-20 minutes.

Take the baked beans, mushrooms, onions in a food processor bowl. Now add other ingredients like oats, avocado, garlic, chili powder, cilantro or parsley leaves, cumin and paprika into the bowl. Blend it but not too much. Refrigerate the mixture for about 10 minutes and then form them into 3-4 patties.

Take a large skillet on medium heat, add vegetable oil to evenly cover the pan. Add the patties to skillet and cook until turns to a golden brownish color and its outside crispy, also the inside is heated too for about 4-5 minutes each side.

Assemble the burger, take toasted Hamburger Buns and spread a layer of vegan or regular mayonnaise, place patty on it with onion, tomatoes, lettuce and sliced Avocado.
