Ingredients:

To make the perfect and delicious home made omelette recipe then you must need these basic ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 grinds black pepper (fresh ground)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh butter
  • 1 tsp water
  • ½ cup or 4 tbsp shredded cheese

Instructions:

Must follow all these steps without skipping any single thing to make this recipe perfect:

  1. First, take a small bowl and crack the eggs, mix the salt, pepper and water into the eggs with whisk.
  2. Preheat a small pan of 8-10 inch on medium heat. Put the butter into pan  and let the butter fully coated the pan. Wait until the butter got large bubbles and then add the eggs mixture into the pan. Again fully coat the pan with the mixture.
  3. Let the eggs cook for 12-15 seconds and then add the cheese (and other filling ingredients if you want). Now with the help of a spatula release the eggs from the pan by slightly scratching from the edges. Shake the eggs to cook them properly. Add the shredded cheese on the top of the eggs and roll the eggs to make a double layer and again cook from both sides. Let the cheese melt for about 15-25 seconds.
  4. Now, time to put the omelette into the plate. After the omelette gets golden from both the sides, take a plate and flip the pan over the plate to remove the omelette from it. Finally, serve the best classic omelette with or without garnishing.

Difference in French and American Omelette:

There are mainly two types of omelette, the first one is French and the second one is American omelette. So, what is the differnce in both of the omelette recipes. Both differ by the cooking style and time.

American Omelette:  When we are cooking the eggs in a pan, we wait for it turn the eggs in light brown color with crispy sides. Basically, the eggs are cooked for a longer period of time. Then the eggs are folded half like a sandwich.

French Omelette: French omelette is basically cooked for short time as to keep the eggs less cooked and more creamy. We stop cooking when the eggs are golden in color not brownish as in American style. Then after cooking the omelette is rolled instead of folding.

So, this is the difference in both the styles. Here in this recipe we made the omelette in French style but you can make it in American Style as cook it for long time. Must add fillings to the french if you want to make the omelette more flavored.
